Mercatren's home page now opens with every store — small shops first
Every Venezuelan store shows up on the first screen with its newest products, even if it only has one. Products from the US catalog are spread in between, a few at a time.
Several stores told us, and they were right: the home page opened with a whole block from the store with the most products, then the US catalog, and the rest might as well not exist. A store with two products — or one — never came first.
Starting today the home page opens with a block called exactly that, “From every store”: the two newest products of EACH Venezuelan store, one after another, and only then six products from the US catalog. The order of the stores changes on every visit, so one time the zinc-sheet wholesaler opens and the next time the shoe store does.
What changes for a store
- Whether you have one product or six hundred, your two newest show up on the first screen of the home page.
- Every product you upload goes straight into that block: uploading puts you up front.
- The department bands (Hardware, Apparel, Motorcycles…) follow the same rule: in each one, Venezuelan stores first, then the US catalog.
- And if a product has several photos, the photo shown in the grid rotates through them — people see all of them, not just the first.
